How Does Exercise Benefit Your Mental Health?
There are a lot of positive benefits of physical exercise.
The physical benefits are pretty obvious. It’s the main reason why most people work out is for the physical benefits. You know, weight loss, toning, muscle building, things of that sort.
But, there are a lot of mental health benefits that go unnoticed.
For example, research shows that 30-40 minutes of physical exercise for three to four times a week is equivalent to some of the most powerful psychiatric medication we have as it relates to dealing with mental health struggles, such as depression, anxiety, and things of that sort.
So, get out there and get active! Play some basketball, walk, jog, go to Zumba, do yoga – whatever it is that fits you.
Find an activity that gets your heart going and that will definitely benefit you in the long term. Not only physically, but mentally as well.
