What is Asperger’s?

Asperger’s is a differently wired mind. It’s not a disease, disorder, or syndrome. Asperger’s is a mind that has been wired to hyper-focus for long periods of times on specific topics called “special interests”.

The social world tends to fall away because the “social part” of an Aspie’s brain isn’t as developed.

Key indicators of those on the spectrum are “special interests”, difficulty socializing, and difficulty understanding non-verbal communications.

That’s essentially what Asperger’s is, however, all Aspies are very, very different. There are a wide variety Aspies on this planet!

Check out the Dr. G Aspie show to learn more about what it means to be on the spectrum!
